NZ Sauv Blanc at Best Price in USA!

How About an elegant Sauvignon Blanc for the Best Price in America?!?!

Peregrine Central Otago Sauvignon Blanc 2013 is an organically farmed, SauvignonBlanc that's the perfect pairing for Springtime fare, like fresh seafood, and composed salads.

Peregrine Wines is located in the Gibbston region of Central Otago near Queenstown, deep in the heart of the South Island of New Zealand. Snow capped mountains dominate the landscape for at least 8 months of the year, with vineyards in the valleys below - a continental climate giving the area hot and dry summers with cool nights.

Peregrine's prime focus is on growing premium Pinot Noir and white varieties from their estate managed vineyards which are meticulously hand tended in a sustainable manner.

With auspicious beginnings, Peregrine's inaugural 1998 Sauvignon Blanc won the Champion Trophy at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards. Since then the winery has continued its winning ways, amassing a hoard of domestic and international goodies for the trophy cabinet. The ultimate goal of owners Lindsay McLachlan and Greg Hay has been to produce hallmark Central Otago wines off their own organically certified vineyards, augmented with fruit from selected growers.

The wines are crafted by Otago native Nadine Cross in a stunningly designed winery complex featuring a dramatic canopy evocative of a falcon's wingspan.

90 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: "Pale silver-yellow color. Aromas of lemon, grapefruit pith, white pepper, tarragon and lemon grass. Supple, dry and savory, with lovely limey cut to its pepper and mineral flavors. Not sweet or fleshy but a nicely understated Sauvignon Blanc with very good subtle persistence."
