Argentina - Day Two - Chakana/Maipe

We woke up and piled into the vans for a trip out to Chakana Winery a beautiful modern facility set in the Agrelo sub appellation.
\"Shaka\" at Chakana

proviva winery2 Chakana makes the Maipe and Cueva brands with and for Fran - well priced wines priced from $12-16/ bottle. Produced in the Luján de Cuyo subregion of Mendoza by the Pelizzatti family, Maipe wines are an expression of the deep rich soils and a commitment to excellence by the young winemaker, Liliana Iannizzotto, and consultant Alberto Antonini.

The scenery is bleak, reminding me of parts of Spain or Mexico - not much greenery and chock a block architecture. That is until you look up and see the towering Andes mountains set against the deepest blue sky you’ve ever seen!

Well, it’s off to dinner at a winery. Will report back more later.
